Marc Ecko buys Barry Bond 756 ball

Fashion mogul Marc Ecko bought Barry Bonds historical 756 home run ball for $750,000!

He created website http://www.vote756.com/ that gave fans three options of 1)Bestow it 2)Brand it 3)Banish it The final results after 10 million votes to Brand the ball and give it to the Baseball Hall of Fame to remember the skeptics behind Barry Bonds taking perfromance enhancer drugs(although he has never tested positive). What a genius marketing plan by Ecko just like the hoax with the Air Force One plan with graffiti on it! Show you the footage soon.

At BOOKiDO we are known to bridge the gap between Easterna nd western philosphy and fashion. MESS out of Beijing are set to release their first series of New Era 59FIFTY fitted caps. Two caps were created, however the white one was produced strictly as a friends & family only release limited to 30 caps. The cap itself was themed after Chinese history. The front embroidery represents prosperity, fortune and luck. The side embroidery features two overlapping coins. These style of coins were the common currency in the past China. The silk underbill references China’s history with silk and the Silk Road. Available on October 1st, the National Day in China.

Tattoos By Mr. Cartoon

at BOOKiDO we like art and one of the oldest form of art next to graffti is tattoos. One of the best tattoo artist today is Los Angelas based Mr. Cartoon from Soul Assassin studios. His artwork can be displayed on many peoples back, arms, legs, neck, sneakers, skateboards, T-shirts, sidekicks, low-riders and walls! DJing on U Street-Washington D.C.

This past weekend DJ Alspin did it again with a New Orleans theme birthday party! The crowd was dancing to the disco beats, old school hip hop, house, 70's funk and of course "All Night Long" by the Mary Jane Girls!! At the end everybody joined the birthday girl for a Second line(a tradition in brass band parades in New Orleans, Louisiana)! ALSPIN on the 1 and 2s

On Saturday Alspin set up for a linen and seersucker(didn't know myself what that was) party and it turned out cool. They had their drinks and their two steps and they was happy! Played some backspin hip hop, Rick James, old Michael Jackson and that new Keyshia Cole remix w/Biggie and they went crazy! The song for the night was the "Cupid Shuffle" by DJ Unk!

A design company called Write-Left out of Vancouver has collaborated with footwear makers Etnies Plus to produce a special edition sneaker set.Inside the set you will find the Pablo (low) and Junior (mid) models along with two Write-Left x Etnies Plus t-shirts. Puma has released a classic sneaeker with a monumental TV show that was the original broadcast of Hip Hop music and culture. I grew up on Yo! MTV Raps and witness my favorite MC's and DJ's perfroming wiht Dr. Dre and Ed Lover. NOw PUma has collaborated witht eh MC Shan limited edition.A gold embroidery of the Queensborough Bridge can be seen on the side. Puma has also brought back the track jacket and the bucket hat as seen by MC Shan on the cover of his 1987 album “Down by Law”. A red shirt with MC Shan striking a pose is also included.

African Martial Arts

BOOKiDO.com has been a huge provider of martial arts information and products. We recently foudn a interesting stick fighting system that was passed down from Africa to the Caribbean islands and still perfromed at carnivals and festivals.

Bajan Stick-Licking or Stick Science is an African system of weapons fighting that features the use of fire hardened sticks of varying lengths. 'Lickin Stick' as it is usually known was most likely transferred to Barbados from the Kongo(Congo)/Angola region of Africa during the 15th century by military men who had been captured as prisoners of war. These soldiers were then purchased by various European enslavers and shipped as cargo to the Caribbean, where some ended up in Barbados as forced free labor.

Kids + Money Documentary

Filmmaker Laura Greenfield recently created a documentary on the relationship between kids and money in the Los Angeles area. You’ll find situations at opposite spectrum which really enables you to classify your own personal financial situation. Some kids in LA are caught up in the cycle where if you aren’t rocking expensive stuff then you aren’t popular. Another interesting point one of the interviewee brings up is our generation’s obsession with instant gratification. APPLE STORE IN NYC

This Apple store on Fifth Ave. in NYC is built like a glass cube and has clear steps going downstairs to the main sales floor. One of the best architecure designs we have seen in a longtime. Apple has recently released the iphone with all its special features and ipod included. For DJ's the Apple store has a Midnight Mix with live DJs on Friday nights from midnight to 2am.
